World Cleanup Day: Kitsilano Beach Cleanup

Join Surfrider Foundation Vancouver for World Cleanup Day at Kitsilano Beach. We are excited to host this cleanup with our friends from the David Suzuki Foundation and Greenpeace.

Register for free at Eventbrite:

WHERE TO MEET: 1252 Arbutus Street (between Whyte Ave and Creelman Street (look for the blue Surfrider tent on the grass/beach)

SORTING VOLUNTEERS: In addition to picking up litter, we also need volunteers to help sort the items collected into different recycling categories. When registering, please indicate if you are interested in sorting litter instead of picking it up.

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR: We will provide reusable gloves, buckets and litter pickers – however, we welcome you to bring your own as there is a limited supply. Please wear closed toe shoes such as hiking boots with either high socks or pants to cover your shins.

POST-CLEANUP MEET AND GREET WITH THE SURFRIDER CREW: Stay tuned for details… LAST BUT NOT LEAST – SAFETY FIRST: Please do not collect heavy, sharp or hazardous objects. Instead, mark the location and inform a Surfrider volunteer for safe removal. Always use a stick or trash picker when sifting to avoid sharp objects. Share your beach cleanup photos using #surfridervan #protectwhereyouplay #protectwhatyoulove. We hope to see you there!
